Serving the community. Being an active contributing surgeon diplomate and society member. Advancing the field of vascular surgery through research, teaching and innovation.
My wife, tennis, golf, pickleball, restaurants, gym and cars
I became a vascular surgeon because I enjoy everything about vascular surgery. The field is filled with innovation and advancement. It is always exciting to learn new techniques and devices to treat a condition. It is wonderful that I can offer the most minimally invasive procedure(endovascular) or a major operation depending on the requirements of the case.
I love the continual care that I can provide my patients. I like telling them that “we are going to be best friends” when I perform PAD, aneurysm or carotid stenosis surveillance.
I admire that vascular surgery is a field that provides comprehensive care, I.e. saving a life/limb through ruptured aneurysm repair/bleeding control, prevention care by routine surveillance and pharmaceutical therapy and patient education with a smoking cessation program or lifestyle modification for better cardiovascular health.
Finally, vascular surgery is the surgeon’s best friend. I am privileged to be relied on by my colleagues at work either with exposures or to bail them out from bleeding or a “lack of blood flow.”
I joined the MVSS because I want to be an active contributing member to the regional society. I want to form connections/meet new people and also to keep in touch with old friends.
