Venous disease, venous thromboembolism, deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism treatment. Also, advanced complex CLTI/PAD treatment and carotid revascularization.
Spending time with family. I also enjoy traveling and trying out new foods — I’m a big foodie.
I find vascular surgery to be fascinating. Everything has a blood supply and therefore, the variety and breadth of the cases is amazing. It is technically challenging and I enjoy the problem solving aspect of it. The planning and execution of most of the operations requires a dedication. Also, I thoroughly enjoy the rapport I develop with the patients and their families. Not all we do is surgery — we help with medical management and risk factor reduction, can suggest minimally invasive interventions using endovascular means, and of course, we can offer larger, more complex open surgery when necessary. I like being able to offer a comprehensive solution to the patient’s problem that i can tailor to each individual patient.
I joined the MVSS as it was a great opportunity to meet, interact and network with our regional colleagues. Vascular surgery is very well represented in the Midwest with powerhouse programs, excellent clinical skill, academic and research pursuits, and a great camaraderie. The annual meeting also offers great educational content and simulation events. It is an excellent regional society and I am proud to be a member.
