I have always loved working with my hands- painting, drawing, and fixing things around the house. I found vascular surgery to be the perfect mix of intricate handiwork, creativity and long-term relationships with the patients I care for. Importantly, I had some fantastic mentors as a general surgery resident who encouraged me to pursue vascular surgery training.
I joined the MVSS as a new faculty member in order to engage with a regional group of vascular surgeons in a collegial environment. I have always looked forward to the annual meeting, where I have had the good fortune to develop many collaborative connections and close friendships with vascular surgeons in the Midwest region.
